UP: Congress plans to hit the streets against Yogi Adityanath government to highlight key issues

Ahead of the 2022 state elections, the  Congress party will soon be hitting the streets against the Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government highlighting issues like deteriorating law and order situation, crime against women,  agrarian crisis etc.

Ahead of the 2022 state elections, the Congress party will soon be hitting the streets against the Yogi Adityanath-led BJP government highlighting issues like deteriorating law and order situation, crime against women, agrarian crisis etc.

During the second day of the training session, the newly-appointed team of state office bearers have been directed by Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi to begin moving across the state by raising issues like a spurt in crime rate, rising incidents of crime against women, unemployment, agrarian and health crisis and issues related to education.

“The leaders have also been directed to establish a direct connection with people and also raise issues like bad implementation of GST, demonetisation, economic slowdown, said a leader part of the meeting on the condition of anonymity.

Training was also given to the new team of the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) members for connecting with people, using social media effectively, strengthen the organisation and develop leadership quality, said another leader.

The state office bearers were shown a film on Mahatma Gandhi.

Teachings of Mahatma Gandhi, Jawahar Lal Nehru, Bhimrao Ambedkar, Sardar Patel, Subhash Chandra Bose, Vinobha Bhave, Chatrapati Sahuji Maharaj and other personalities were also discussed with the state leaders, said a source part of the meeting.

Meanwhile, Priyanka Gandhi is expected to leave from Bhuemau guest house in Raebareli around noon on Thursday.

She will be welcomed by party workers at multiple places in Raebareli and Amethi before leaving for Delhi.
