Person critically injured in truck crash in Dunedin

A person has been critically injured after being hit by a truck at a fuel stop in Dunedin.

The incident happened at the Caltex Dunedin Fuel Stop on Fryatt St, in an industrial part of the city, about 4.15pm on Tuesday.

Stuff reporter at the scene said firefighters were covering the area with tarpaulins and photographers had been ushered away.

Police, Fire and Emergency New Zealand personnel, and police were at the site.

A police spokeswoman said officers were responding to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a truck.

“One person is reported to have critical injuries,” she said.

Firefighters, St John staff, and police are all at the scene of the crash.
