After suffering a miscarriage earlier this month, Hilaria Baldwin is opening up about how she’s getting through it.
During an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the writer and wife of Alec Baldwin said she’s “doing as best as you can.”
“I’m much better than I was last week and coming out and talking about it and sharing I think has been very healing for me,” she added.
Hilaria also talked about the importance of de-stigmatizing miscarriages and having open conversations about it.
“I believe, when you go through something difficult, the sooner you make it into something real, you can do something with it,” she said. “And it was something that you don’t want to be real… I kept on waking up and thinking it was a bad dream and it wasn’t but the more that you talk about it, the more you make it real, and when it’s real, then you can work on it.”
The tragic event hasn’t stopped the couple from wanting more, however.
“We can’t end on that note. I don’t want to,” Hilaria said. “At least, we’re trying not to end on that note. Cause that was a sad note.”
Alec Baldwin, who was also part of the interview, nodded, adding, “Yeah, we’re gonna have another one.”
In an interview with Extra, Hilaria said she’s “connected” with Kimberly Van Der Beek, who also suffered a miscarriage. Her husband, actor James Van Der Beek, tearfully announced the news about what would have been their sixth child Monday on “Dancing With the Stars.”
“I guess we truly know what’s going on for each other,” Hilaria told the outlet.
“It’s been tough,” she added. “She’s very strong and my heart is with what’s going on with them.”
