Five young men are on the run after an alleged stolen ute filled with eight teens flipped and crashed in Sydney’s west overnight.
It’s believed the Toyota Hilux was being driven by a 16-year-old and carrying three of the juveniles in the tray of the ute along Junction Road, Moorebank, when it rolled shortly before 3am on Saturday morning.
The passengers — all aged between 16 and 17 — left a path of destruction earlier in the morning by burning the building materials stored in the back of the tradesman’s vehicle.
Melted paint brushes, power cords and sealing chemicals left an ugly scene in Central Park in the western suburb.
Police said the five males ran away from the scene, leaving three teens trapped in the ute with injuries — one of those left stranded was a teenage girl.
Those teens have been taken to Liverpool Hospital suffering non-life threatening injuries and will be tested for drug and alcohol consumption.
They are expected to be charged by police later today.
