Days after an Edmonton man stepped forward to claim a $60-million Lotto Max prize, someone who bought a ticket in Calgary will pocket their own $50-million jackpot following Friday’s draw.
According to Western Canada Lottery Corporation, a single ticket purchased in Calgary is worth a cool $50 million to whoever nailed all seven numbers for the big prize.
On Wednesday, 55-year-old Edmonton landscaper Bon Truong emerged 10 months after discovering he was a multi-millionaire, matching a record for the highest jackpot ever recorded in Alberta.
But $50 million is nothing to sneeze at, and whoever managed to pick lucky numbers 5, 9, 33, 36, 39. 41 and 44 will be joining Truong in the lottery winner’s circle.
Another $270,000 from Friday’s draw will go to someone who purchased a ticket in Ontario and nailed six of seven numbers plus the bonus number of 27.
